Virginia Paving Information
The Cameron Station Civic Association needs your help monitoring Virginia Paving. Now that the weather is improving, Virginia Paving will begin their 24-hour paving schedule. From April 1 through November 1, Virginia Paving can produce 275,000 tons of asphalt at night, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. and work 24 hours each day, 6 days each week for 110 nights.

If you notice odor or dust at anytime, or noise or excessive lighting at night, please contact Julius Holmes with the City of Alexandria at: 703-838-4334. After hours or on weekends, please contact the 24-hour nuisance hot line at 703-906-9918.

Virginia Paving will begin operations again when the weather warms up. In 2008, there were 36 complaints made about activities (smells, noise, etc.) at Virginia Paving and were followed up on by city employees. Many reasons were given as reasons for the complaints (which ranged from traffic signal problems to engines idling near our neighborhood to distinct odors coming from either the plant or trucks leaving the plant).

The next meeting of the Virginia Paving Community Liaison Committee will be February 11 at 7 pm in the Samuel Tucker Elementary School mini auditorium on the second floor. Please attend if you're able.
